Is It Possible To Live Ethically?
Ethics
serve as a compass to direct how people should behave toward each other. It
reflects beliefs about what is right and what is wrong If ethics lead people to
a perspective about how to act in society, it raises a question whether live
ethically can be possible or not.
In my
opinion, living ethically is impossible. It is known that every single person
comes from different backgrounds. Ethics are shaped by social norms, cultural
practices, and religious influences –that’s what makes each person’s view about
ethics different. Because of this, we can conclude that what we think is good
is not necessarily good for others. Ethical issue about genetically modified
(GM) food is one of the example. In the beginning, scientists created GM food
to alleviate world hunger, which is ethically good. They
believe that GM food is safe to eat and will not harm consumer health. As time
goes by, some people start to argue about harmful consequences of GM food and
it is become surrounded by ethical concern. From this example we may
see that we can’t make everyone happy. However hard we try, there will always be
something we get wrong. Therefore, it is impossible to live ethically.
