96 Minutes
I found documentary movies usually to be boring, so when I heard we would watch a documentary called “Supersize Me”, I assumed that the movie wouldn’t be interesting. As it turns out, this movie is not boring at all. During the movie, I wasn’t only saw the diet of the documentary’s creator and director, Morgan Spurlock, but also there are some interview throughout. For me, the most interesting part is when he visited schools. He revealed to us the students’ eating habits and what the school sells in its cafeteria. In my opinion, the reason why he included this scene is because he wants to show us how bad American eating habits are and how they even affect students at school.
Another
interesting part is when he said why he chose McDonald’s –it is because
McDonald’s is the biggest fast food restaurant in the US. Nowadays, kids like
to eat at fast food restaurants rather than at home. Parents also tend to
choose McDonald’s whenever they take their kids out for a meal. This behavior
raises a question, “Why do they do this?”, and I got the answer immediately;
McDonald’s is one complete package, all in one: playground, clown, toys, etc.
No doubt, it is every child’s dream to celebrate their birthday party at
McDonald’s.
Overall, this
movie has succeeded in making me think twice before entering a fast food
restaurant. I realise this movie isn’t about the taste of McDonald’s, but
rather it is about the big effect after having McDonalds. I recommend you to watch this movie.
